Seeing kids empowered to be who God made them to be
Chris moved to Aspen in 1998 and like everyone else was planning on only staying for three years. Sixteen years later he considers Aspen his home. Chris is married to Elaine, and together with God’s help they are raising four wonderful children: Ambler Faith, Samuel, Karis and Burgin. Chris oversees the children and student ministries at Crossroads and truly feels his favorite area is middle school. “I really love all of the positions that I serve in at the church from the little ones in the nursery to the relationships that I have with students who graduated high school many years ago. But I believe my favorite age group to work with is middle school students. They have a belief that any thing is possible, it is a joy to see them go for it in everything they do.
When asked what is his greatest vision is he replied, “To see a generation take hold of the gospel and make lasting change with their peers and then the entire community of Aspen.” Chris loves kids and loves to see them empowered, encouraged and released to be who God made them to be. When he is not working Chris loves spending time with his family, which loves to rock climb, mountain bike, ice climb, ski and snowboard together. Like many Aspen families much of their time together is spent outdoors enjoying all that Aspen has to offer.
