False Protection

False Protection

Protection is greatly sought after in our lives and our culture, especially with our world becoming more and more volatile it seems. Many people seek different things to provide them protection, and even define protection in different ways. Satan, the thief who prowls around like a roaring lion seeking who he can destroy, loves to provide people with false protection in the form of fear although many do not realize it is actually fear rather than protection they are in agreement with.

Agreements are a big deal. When we choose to come into agreement with the enemy’s tricks (lies) we start to allow strongholds or obstacles (walls) be built. These lies can be so subtle that we sometimes do not even notice they are there or are beginning to take place. Our human reasoning and false arguments can begin to put us into bondage, or slavery. Before long, the bondage created starts to give birth to a pride that may then become a proud obstacle or even multiple walls of agreements.

When most people think of walls or obstacles from a place of fear, they think of a fort or something that will provide them protection. Therefore, these false arguments may have built a “fear fort” for a person and give them a false protection. Think about and read Ephesians 6, which tells us to put on the full armor of God. Now think about being in what may seem like a secure fort built on false arguments, or lies. If a person was in a secure fort there would be no reason to need complete armor like mentioned in Ephesians 6 (helmet, breastplate, shield, sword, belt, shoes). So, we were never meant to hide inside a secure fort, we are meant to be in the spiritual battle, to wage war with God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, against strongholds of human reasoning and false arguments to knock them down and destroy them. This is not a message against worldly weapons! Jesus never told His disciples to throw away their swords!!

These types of walls or obstacles we may have put up by coming into agreement with a lie actually PREVENT US, NOT PROTECT US. This is the enemy’s great plan to deceive us by use of false arguments and keep us on the sidelines.

Scripture is very clear on what we should do with these such false arguments (lies).

“We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.”        2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NLT

Jesus did just that, He knocked down and destroyed strongholds and false arguments as a model for what we are to obey. By obeying Christ, or coming into agreement with Christ, we are knocking down and destroying obstacles built on false arguments and strongholds of human reasoning, just like Jesus did.

Ask God to reveal these false arguments to you today by showing you areas in your life where fear exists, and go to His Word, the blood of Jesus, and the name of Jesus to DESTROY any strongholds or false arguments today and every day moving forward. Remember, “Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” Eph 6:18 NLT… Get in the game!
