The Lord regularly brings me back to 1 Peter 5:6-7: “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” Here are a few thoughts from one of my spiritual heroes, A.W. Tozer:
“It is an old rule of the Kingdom of God that when we try to get big, we always get smaller by the moment.”
“Humility pleases God whenever it is found and the humble man will have God for his friend and helper always.”
“Only the humble man is completely sane, for he is the only one who sees clearly his own size and limitations.”
Sometimes we feel like being humble means not having great aspirations. Being humble is learning to live submitted to God in every area of our lives. God is always on the outlook for men and women who are willing to abandon themselves to Him so He can fulfill aspirations far greater than we could have on our own.
Here are some updates of some exciting things going on in the life of the church:
Donations through 8/31 are down $52,279 from last year. The general fund is showing about $85,000 loss this year as of 8/31. Please pray about helping close this deficit. We have several wonderful initiatives that we are hoping to launch this year or the beginning of next year.
Meet Our New Interns
We are excited to launch our Internship program this fall. Brian Matthew (left) will be our High-School intern and Fitz Scott (right) our Middle-School intern – both working alongside Chris Henderson. Both Brian and Fitz will be working 20 hours/week which includes both their ministry time and equipping time with leadership. Our Internship program is designed to equip those seeking a future in full-time ministry with the foundational training and experience necessary to achieve that goal. We are very excited to have Brian and Fitz on board. Contact Dan Bosko at email@example.com at 970.404.2130 for more information.
